DR. B. SIVA KUMARI, COORDINATOR, 

NATIONAL GREEN CORPS:

A    Activities: 2015- 2016

•       Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Dept. of Botany, NGC Coordinator organized an Aids Awareness Rally on First December, 2015 on the Eve of World Aids Day.
•      Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Dept. of Botany, NGC Coordinator organized a Guest Lecture on Role of Traditional Medical Systems- Health’ on first Dec, 2015.
•     Dr.B. Siva Kumari, Dept. of Botany, NGC Coordinator organized plantation and Campus Cleaning programme on 2^nd Dec, 2015, as a part of NEERU- CHETTU Programme.
•      National Green corps organized Campus Cleaning Programme  on 3rd Dec, 2015 near the Green House. A total no of 80 Intermediate Biology students participated in this Programme. Botany faculty members Dr. B. Siva Kumari, Mr. P. Srinivasa Rao and Ms. S. Sailaja were monitored the programme.
•       National Green Corps and Department of Botany organized  campus cleaning programme on 15th Dec, 2015. Total 45 students participated in this programme. Dr. B. Siva Kumari and Mr. P. Srinivasa Rao 'monitored this programme. 
•      On the Eve of World Aids Day, . B. Siva Kumari , National Green Corps coordinator, organized Drawing and Slogan Writing Competitions on STOP AIDS on 30^th Nov, 2015. Total no of 48 students participated in Drawing competition and 54 students participated in the Slogan Writing competition.
•     According to the Instructions of State Govt. Of A.P, on NEERU- CHETTU programme, the NGC, NSS & Dept. of Botany organized an Essay writing Competition on Sustainable Environment through Green technologies, on 4^th November, 2015 in the Botany lab. 45 students participated in this event. Dr. B. Siva Kumari, NGC COORDINATOR, Mr. P. Srinivasarao, Dr. G. Dayakar NSS coordinators monitored this programme.  
•      NGC ORIENTATION: Dr. B. Siva Kumari organized one orientation for NGC Students on 24-08-2015 at IN-7, Dr. T. Sri kumar, Dept. of Physics was the resource person.

Activities: 2014- 2015

• Dr. B. Siva Kumari Department of Botany appointed as a National Green Corps coordinator on 15^th July, 2014.
• Guest Lecture: NGC organized an Inter Departmental Drawing Competitions on the following themes-1 Save Nature 2. Make Vijayawada City -  Green Hat of the State 3. Conservation of Biodiversity on 25th July, 2014. 150 students from various departments actively   involved in this programme on the eve of WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY 8-07-2014.
• Guest Lecture:  NGC organized a Guest lecture on ‘Conservation of Biodiversity’ on 28^th July, 2014, to mark the WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY. Sri. P. Ashok Kumar, DFO, Krishna was the chief guest.
• ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS WEEK:Dr. NGC organized a week long ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS programmes from 22^nd -30th August 2014.
• Campus Cleaning: NGC students participated in the campus cleaning and plantation work as a part of NGC programme on 22-8-2014, 70 students participated in the campus cleaning and plantation work. This work gives students an experience about the importance of cleanliness and plantation. This also imparts a feeling of responsibility on their surroundings for the students.
• Campus Cleaning: As a part of NGC programme, 30 NGC girl students participated in the cleaning and plantation work near the ALC church. This work gives students an experience about the importance of cleanliness and plantation. This also imparts a feeling of responsibility on their surroundings for the students.

• One Day Seminar: Dr. B. Siva Kumari Department of Botany organized a One Day Seminar on "The role of Medicinal Plants in Reducing Pollution," as a part of the Environmental Awareness week on 28^th August, 2014. 
• Plantation work:  Dr. B. Siva Kumari Department of Botany organized Neeru - Meeru Chettu programme on 30^th Aug, 2014 near Intermediate block in collaboration with Krishna district forest Dept. The programme was inaugurated by Gadde Rammohan East Constituency MLA and Sri. Mishra IFS, Asst. Chief Conservator of the forests A.P explained the importance and need of conservation of Biodiversity. Sri. P. Ashok, DFO, Krishna district and other officials involved in this programme.
• Guest Lecture: Dr. B. Siva Kumari Department of Botany organized a Guest lecture on ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION- ROLE OF STUDENTS on 8^th September 2014 in In-7
• Plantation work: Dr. B. Siva Kumari Department of Botany conducted PLANTATION WORK As a part of NGC programme, Fifty five NGC students participated in the cleaning and plantation work near the UGC hostel on 11^th Sep, 2014. 
• World Ozone Day:  Dr. B. Siva Kumari Department of Botany conducted DRAWING COMPETITIONS FOR COLLEGE AND SCHOOL CHILDREN-   on the Eve of World Ozone Day on 16th September, 2014.
• ENVIRON- On the Eve of World Ozone Day on 16th September, 2014, Dr. B. Siva Kumari Department of Botany the NGC coordinator organized one day seminar ENVIRON-2014 in association with A.P forest department.
• Blood Donation: Dr. B. Siva Kumari Department of Botany the NGC coordinator organized   Blood Donation   Camp, 50 NGC students of ALC actively took part in giving blood to cancer hospital, Eluru on 18^th November, 2014.
• PLASTIC FREE CAMPAIGN: Dr. B. Siva Kumari Department of Botany the NGC coordinator conducted PLASTIC FREE CAMPUS every month.
• Guest Lecture:  NATIONAL GREEN CORPS, Department of Microbiology organized a guest lecture on CLINICAL AND CANCER BIOLOGY RESEARCH on 01 Jan, 2015
•  Guest Lecture: NATIONAL GREEN CORPS, Departments of PG Botany and Biotechnology organized a guest lecture on Scope of Biology in research on 28-01-2015 at IN-7
• One Day Seminar NATIONAL GREEN CORPS, Departments of PG Botany and Biotechnology organized a one day seminar on “GREEN TECHNOLOGY” -A way to Environmental Resilience 4^th February, 2015.
• NGC ORIENTATION: Dr. B. Siva Kumari organized an orientation for the NGC Students to explain the importance of NGC & rules and regulations in NGC on 24-08-2015 at IN-7.

WOMEN’S CELL ACTIVITIES

Women’s Cell Coordinator

• Mrs. B. Siva Kumari appointed as Women’s Cell Coordinator in 2008
• Motivation talk:  B. Siva Kumari Women’s cell coordinator arranged   motivation talk for the girl students on 10^th Aug, 2008. Mrs. Mallika Begum Vijayawada mayor, Ms. Ahammudussa S.I city Women cell protection and Mrs. T. Vijaya Lakshmi Principal SDMS College were the resource persons.
• Guest Lecture:   B. Siva Kumari Women’s cell coordinator organized a guest lecture on “Gynic problems in Teenage girls as a part of health awareness programme on 19^th Nov, 2008.  
• Domestic Survey:  B. Siva Kumari Women’s cell coordinator had conducted a domestic survey on various issues related to women. The P.G students of Botany and Biotechnology participated in this event. Rev.Fr Dr. S Emmanuel, Principal, Vice Principal of P.G Dominic Sunder Raj S.J, participated in the programme.
• Domestic survey to trace out school dropouts: . B. Siva Kumari Women’s cell coordinator conducted Domestic survey on 18^th December 2008, the P.G students of Botany and Biotechnology   involved in the door to door survey,   nearly 62 students conducted domestic survey from 3 o clock to 6 o clock evening and they survey 480 houses.
• Collecting unused clothes: B. Siva Kumari Women’s cell coordinator conducted awareness among the students regarding help to the poor people we collected old and unused cloths from the students, for this on 4^th of January 2009.
•  Inter-Collegiate competitions: Bc. Siva Kumari Women’s cell coordinator conducted an inter-collegiate competition on ^6th January, 2009, in Gogineni hostel, in this occasion the W.C organized a string of events. 13 colleges are participated in this programme, the competitions inaugurated by the Mrs. M. Ratna Bindu Mayor of the Vij, she was the chief guest on this occasion, said education was key to a women’s development. She said women must play active role in politics. The guest of honor Mrs. Tammareddi Nirmala, Retd prof in Telugu, ANU explained the role of women in society from the beginning and also she emphasizes the imp of education for other women improvements.
• Blood grouping programmes: . B. Siva Kumari Women’s cell coordinator conducted blood grouping and donation programmes to the students.

NSS Coordinator: (2005-2007)

•      Special camp: Mrs. B. Siva Kumari conducted a special Day Camp activities and awareness programmes in new raja rajeawari pet. The experience is new to the students but for the college it was not, because it already involved in conducting various social services, in order to make more effective, a 10 days programme was conducted at New RR pet.
•      Blood grouping: Mrs. B. Siva Kumari conducted blood grouping programme for the second and final year Micro Biology students.  Nearly 600 hundred students are benefited with this programme.
•      Drainage cleaning: With the help of the Municipal people the students daily they are involved in cleaning the canals
•       Road lying: The students are actively participated in the Road laying in R.R.Pet.
•     Conducting Rallies: In order to give some awareness on health, diseases, education the Students every day conducted rallies on these problems.
•      Find out Drop outs: During the 10 days the students conducted a house hold survey on Drop out students and their financial status.
•      INAUGURATION OF RED RIBBON CLUB Government of India had passed a G.O for organizing a special club for blood donation at Colleges level. Mrs. B. Siva Kumari is the member in that club. This club was inaugurated by University NSS coordinator and college principal.
•      ORGANIZED A MEGA BLOOD GROUPING PROGRAMME : With the help of College management and Red Cross society, Mrs. B. Siva Kumari conducted a mega blood grouping programme, nearly 1200 students are benefited with this programme. For this work she received a Gold medal from Red Cross society.
•   PARTICIPATING IN THE AWERENESS PROGRAMMES Mrs. B. Siva Kumari participated in 3 day refresher course in STOP AIDS Programme conducted by the Govt of India at Nagarjuna University.
•      AIDS AWARENESS PROGRAMME: Mrs. B. Siva Kumari participated in 2 day seminar on AIDS AWARENESS at SRR &CVR College
•         WOMEN EMPOWERMENT: Mrs. B. Siva Kumari participated in 2 day seminar on WOMEN EMPOWERMENT AT GUDIVADA.
•    Guest Lecture: Mrs. B. Siva Kumari gave a talk on ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION in Municipal School, Gunadala.
